Some Thoughts From the Book of PART 1

In 2002, the sex abuse scandal severely affected the credibility of the Roman Catholic Church. Besides the scandal itself, the act of the church council trying to cover up the issue made even more followers losing their faith to the church. However, though the attitude of the hierarchies being silenced over the scandal was disproving, the case did not actually diminished the faith of the Catholics to their holy ‘Cross’. It was observed that people were still attending the Mass and still praying to their holy father. What then could support the argument of the sex abuse scandal has cause lasting damage to the church? Some people claim that it is the most serious crisis the church has ever faced, but it is not a crisis of faith. People should do their best in forgiving these pedophile priests.

Personally I think without any doubts, the scandal is a shame to those pedophile priests who have betrayed the trust of both God and the people. I wonder where is the credibility of a priest who should be doing the job of disseminating the gospel words. The answer, suddenly come into my mind, is the faith lies between people and their priests. No matter how serious the crisis was, they should still keep their faith in their ever glorious father, Jesus. He is the judger of all moral responsibilities. He is the source of power of all humanity.

Hierarchies come and go; the faith endures.
